We received a call from the client asking for help. His elderly sister had taken a fall down the stairs and was in hospital. The hospital had stated that she would be unable to return home unless she could reside solely on the ground floor, so time was of the essence.
As the client was also in his late 70s we took on the whole project for him including building regulations drawings, documentation and liaising with building control, liaising with the utility companies to move existing meters, building works, electrical works, gas works, plastering, glazing, decoration, floor covering and landscaping.
This project was more of a practical than aesthetical project but nevertheless we matched the new extension with the existing building and gave the client the additional space required. Upon completion we are delighted to say, after inspection, his sister was allowed home.
As we often find, client satisfaction is not always about grand designs. It can be more about whether the solution works economically and provides our client with the extra space they need and hoped for.
