Our client approached us as he was wishing to work from home but did not have the space to do so. After coming up with several possible solutions we decided to convert his garage into a two-storey building to accommodate his office whilst retaining usable garage space.
This involved complete stripping the roof, removing the existing roof trusses and installing new loft trusses to accommodate the required ceiling height. New stairs were installed to gain access through a designated side entrance leading directly up to the office.
One of the requirements was light, so a large dorma window was installed complete with 3 Velux roof lights.
We completed all the building works including carpentry, roofing, plastering and decoration, plus all the electrical and floor finishes.
Needless to say, the client is delighted. He couldn’t believe he hadn’t done it years ago!
